Instructions for recipients of Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grants in FABER:
As a recipient of a COST Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grant, after finalizing it, you are required to submit a scientific report at the end of your mission. This report is essential for the evaluation and approval of your grant payment.
Please carefully follow the instructions below when preparing your report:
General Requirements
The report should also include the following sections:
A. General Information
B. Description of Work Carried Out
C. Main Achievements and Results
D. Future Collaboration
E. Additional Outputs (if applicable):
Any additional photos or videos of presentations, collaboration, experiments etc. that could be used for further dissemination of the work conducted in FABER please contact the science communication coordinators of the Action, to collect the material.
First call for applications for Short-Term Scientific Missions
The call is open to all FABER members, but younger members are generally the primary target group.
You can apply simply through the e-cost system: https://e-services.cost.eu/activity/grants/add?type=STSM.
Note that this first call is open for applications till March 11, 2025 and the stay should end by the end of summer to be sure we can process all necessary documents before the first FABER year ends.
If you consider this, please check the closer conditions at https://www.cost.eu/cost-actions-event/action-networking-tools/.
We assume about 6 STSM could be funded from the budget this year. When writing the proposal, consider how it fits into the FABER scheme and which topics you’ll help to push forward. Your stay outside should be beneficial for FABER.
Short-Term Scientific Missions:
• Support capacity building and transfer of knowledge through bilateral/multilateral collaborations;
• Support specific / general topic that can help achieving the Action MoU objectives and deliverables (research coordination);
• Are very flexible and inclusive networking activities crucial to establish new collaborations or reinforce existing collaborations across disciplines and different sectors (e.g., academia and industry / SMEs) with possible impact on career development;
• Outcomes (e.g. spin-off publications and (funded) projects) contribute to the visibility and impact of the COST
Actions, encouraging other researchers to join.
