Aim: To facilitate capacity building on a topic relevant to the theme of the respective COST Action through the delivery of intensive training on a new or emerging subject. Not intended to provide general training.
Types of Mobility Supported by COST Actions:
1. Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)
These are in-person exchange visits designed to:
• Strengthen researcher networks,
• Enable learning of new techniques, methods, or data access.
• Applicants must be hosted by a DIFFERENT COST Member Country (not within their own).
• Duration ranges from 5 to 90 days, with extended options for Early Career Investigators (ECIs).
• Funding covers travel, accommodation, and living expenses—up to €4,000 per mission.
2. ITC Conference Grants
These are tailored for PhD students and ECIs from COST’s Inclusiveness Target Countries (including North Macedonia, where you’re based).
• They support attendance at international conferences not organized by COST Actions themselves.
• Applicants must be under 40 and affiliated with an institution in an ITC or Near Neighbor Country.
3. Virtual Mobility Grants (VMGs)
Designed for virtual or hybrid collaboration, these grants enable:
• Online mentoring, methodological coordination (e.g., by organizing surveys), data analysis, or virtual training.
• Funding is capped—often up to €1,500, depending on scope and duration.
4. Dissemination Activity Grants
Purpose:
Dissemination Activity Grants (often called Dissemination Conference Grants) are financial supports offered by COST Actions to enable members to present the Action’s work and results at high-profile events not organised by the Action itself.
