Dissemination Activity

Aim: To communicate the work and results of the COST Action to a wide range of audiences, including non-scientific ones. Must comply with COST branding rules and minimum 3 co-authors.

Purpose:
Dissemination Activity Grants (often called Dissemination Conference Grants) are financial supports offered by COST Actions to enable members to present the Action’s work and results at high-profile events not organised by the Action itself.

They aim to:

  • Increase the Action’s visibility in the scientific community and beyond.
  • Build new collaborations and stakeholder connections.
  • Share knowledge and results with targeted audiences.

Who Can Apply:

  • Must be an Action participant (registered on the e-COST platform).
  • Typically open to PhD students, Early Career Investigators (ECIs), and other members from any COST Member Country or Near Neighbour Country.
  • The applicant must be presenting work linked to the Action’s objectives (usually as a speaker or poster presenter).

Eligible Activities:

  • Oral presentations or posters at international conferences.
  • Keynote speeches or panel contributions directly linked to Action results.
  • Participation in policy, industry, or stakeholder events that align with the Action’s goals.

Funding Rules:

  • Up to €2,000 for in-person events (covers travel, accommodation, daily allowance, and registration fees).
  • Up to €500 for virtual events.

Funding is a grant, not a reimbursement of actual costs—it’s based on the approved budget in the grant agreement.

The applicant must submit a scientific report within 30 days of the event, including evidence of participation and dissemination impact.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Broader reach of the Action’s results.
  • Enhanced networking and knowledge exchange.
  • Stronger integration of COST Actions into international research and innovation ecosystems.
